A look at QB situations around the league

Denver: Projected Depth Chart- Kyle Orton, Brady Quinn, Tim Tebow

Although Quinn is ahead of Tebow on the depth chart he will still see more playing time and will be the replacement if Orton fouls up. Denver is creating packages for Tebow and he is without a doubt the future of the franchise. Orton and Quinn will be gone by 2011 and it will be Tebow's job to lose. No matter who is at the helm in 2010 they will have a productive season. Josh McDaniels works wonders with Quarterbacks and all three of his guys fit the scheme. Not to mention a young stellar receiving corps. Top four wide-outs: Eddie Royal will bounce back in 2010, Jabar Gafney will be consistent the short first down game, the rookie and Brandon Marshall's 'replacement' Demarious Thomas will be a game changer from week 1 for the next 12 years, and Mr. clutch himself Brandon Stokley will be huge when they need him. No matter the QB he will succeed.

Pittsburgh: Projected Depth Chart- Ben Rothlisberger, Byron Leftwich, Charlie Batch, Dennis Dixon

This wouldn't be a controversy if Ben wasn't out 6 weeks, but it is. Who starts week 1? According to most NFL analysts the job is given to Leftwich. I tend to disagree, I think the job needs to be either Batch's or Dixon's. If I were the coach Dixon would be my starter without a doubt. Batch is a great back-up and that is his whole career. Dennis showed his got what it takes when he got his name called last year. But, when it comes down to it Byron will get the nod.

Buffalo: Projected Depth Chart- Ryan Fitzpatrick, Trent Edwards, Brian Brohm

Wow, this has got to be a tough situation to be in. I think all three will see adamant playing time this year. The starter will be named officially after pre-season after they look at some game tape. But until then, you have to give Edawrds the nod. He had a good rookie season and if he stays healthy I believe he can be a solid starter in the NFL. Fitzpatrick is just a filler and unfortunately that is all he is capable of. Brohm is a tough one to break down. Strong arm, but erratic at times. With a great QB coach he could be great. He reminds me of a John Elway Warren Moon type. All in all none of these can produce with this core of receivers. It is what I think the worst receiving corps in the NFL. Call Andre Reed! He is the only chance you have! They need to trade away Lynch or Jackson for a mid-round pick and a solid back-up ready to explode on the scene! Dennis Dixon, Michael Vick, Tavaris Jackson, just to name a few. They need a mobile QB to get away from the rush. I'd even go and try out Graham Harrell! So much upside, low risk. I'm closing the case on this one with a final statement of GOOD LUCK!

Carolina: Projected Depth Chart- Matt Moore, Jimmy Clausen, Hunter Cantwell

Cantwell will be either released or demoted to practice squad. The starter depends all on training camp. Clausen vs. Moore, probably the most unpredictable competition of the season. Could go either way, both have great upside. Although they also both have tremendous downfall. Matt is very accurate and a safe pick, but safe doesn't win championships. Plus I just don't see the strength to be a leader in him. Jimmy was groomed to be a superstar under Coach Weis and he is such a sure thing.....right? Ya, couldn't help but think of Brady Quinn could ya? Yes, he is supposed to be great, but don't you wonder why he fell so far in the draft. It is his because of his cocky selfish attitude. Coaches shy away from these kind of players because they could destroy a locker room. Especially a QB. I compare him to Philip Rivers, Ryan Leaf, and T.O. Out of those three, Rivers is the only one you can really say has not disrupted the locker room..yet. I just don't see Clausen stepping up as a force to be reckoned with. I am saying this with caution, because he defiantly can be great and I will bite my tongue and applaud him if I am wrong. End of season, Clausen will be the starter unless Matt Moore does something amazing.

St. Louis: Projected Depth Chart- Sam Bradford, TBD

It's Bradford's team now. It is his offense and Laurenitis' defense. The Rams are building for the future. Expect them to stick with Bradford no matter what for at least 4 years.

Seattle: Projected Depth Chart- Matt Hasselbeck, Charlie Whithurst,

Hasselbeck will start week 1, but if he gets injured (which will happen) it then becomes Charlie's team. I don't know if he is capable because he has no game film, but why not, they seem pretty confident in him.

Cleveland: Projected Depth Chart- Jake Delhome, Seneca Wallace,

Jake will start, but Seneca will get his chance. As inconsistent as Seneca is you never know which side of him show up Sunday. If he plays like I know he can, he will be the starter while they groom the new face of their franchise.

Oakland: Projected Depth Chart- Jason Campbell, Bruce Gradkowski, Charlie Frye

Jason Campbell is their man. If the receivers decide to do their job and actually catch the ball and the O-line blocks, Campbell will have no issues and be a solid starter. Bruce, I love Bruce. He has so much heart and passion for the game. If he can improve in his mechanics then he will do great things wherever he plays in 2011. As for Frye, sorry you had your chance in Cleveland. Just didn't perform, but I wish luck as a journey man in the NFL.

  1. I don't think Tebow will be ready by the 2011 season. He'll need at least 2 full years to work on his mechanics and actually learn a pro style offense. So I think Tebow doesn't get the number one spot till at least the 2012 season. They'll definitely working him in to the wildcat this year like you said. McDaniels better be able to make Tebow at least a decent quarterback cause if Tebow struggles as a starter McDaniels will be out the door in a heartbeat.
